National Breakup Day – June 2, 2010

Been dissed? Or done a little kicking to the curb yourself?

Okay, we joke but the truth is, no matter what side of the equation you’re on breaking up is hard to do. And so of course, like just about everything else, there is now a day to commemorate the end of the relationship road.

Playfully started by Budweiser (hey wait…shouldn’t Ben and Jerry’s be in on this too?) this holiday is obviously tongue-in-cheek (or is that hankie-in-hand?). But, it did get us at Dating Diva Daily thinking about breakups and all the lines that go with it. “It’s not you, it’s me” aside, you’ve probably been handed a few winners – or losers – yourself over the years. We have!

With that in mind, Nancy Brook, author of the soon-to-be-released Cycling, Wine and Men: A Midlife Tour de France and a survivor of several bad breakups herself, has started a site just to collect the best breakup lines ever!
