Looking to the Stars for Romantic Possibility

I have a confession to make. I LOVE reading my horoscope.

As a result, it is no accident that Dating Diva Daily includes an astrological section and we were lucky enough to get the fabulous Patrice Kamins to sign on as our Div-Astrologer. Like the rest of our readers, every month I can’t WAIT to see what the stars indicate for MY love life.

But why is this? I mean, many people would say “You can’t rely on astrology to predict your romantic fate.”  Okay, maybe not…but what if you can? And in an area where there is so much rejection and confusion and frequently loneliness, is it so bad to pin a little credence on the galaxy?

To me, the stars mean one thing…HOPE.  If I am walking around wondering where in the world Mr. Right is hiding and I see a little glimmer of possibility in a horoscope that says my love life will improve well…I’ll take that and run with it. It’s nice to be reminded that just around the corner you might bump into someone who changes your whole reality as you know it. And if a horoscope does nothing else but make me remember that then I’d say it’s worth the read. Sometimes you just need a little extra something to keep you out there and trying.

Astrology also can serve as a great confirmation of your reality. For example, I recently found out that my little psychic Pisces-self (with Libra moon and Libra rising) is apparently facing a huge amount of change on all personal, professional and romantic levels astrologically. I was like “No kidding! I could have told you that!  Absolutely everything in my life feels like it’s up in the air at this moment!”

But as soon as I got confirmation that my chart was also predicting this tumult, I was able to breathe a sigh of relief because apparently the universe was supporting what I was feeling on a daily basis (i.e. “WHAT IS GOING ON?!!!!!”).  Somehow knowing this has allowed me to keep focused and trust that I’m not insane. Yes, things are in flux but…there is a light at the end of the tunnel (in my case, plans are supposed to start solidifying around June 8^th…yes, I’m counting the days).

Astrology only gets a bad rap when people check out of their own responsibility and say “Well, the stars say this will happen so I don’t have to try.” WRONG. You still have to do your part or then you are just being lazy. But knowing that there might be a plan out there beyond your sheer will can give you a reserve of energy to keep dreaming.

In other words, I think it’s okay to wish upon a star for love once in a while – I do.
